About Wings Tail
Our Story
We didn’t want to create another tour company.
Wings Tail was founded in 2026 by Lasitha Rajapaksha with a simple idea:
Travelling around Sri Lanka should feel like experiencing Sri Lanka — not simply following a tour script.
For years, visitors have been shown the same famous places, taken along familiar routes, and given carefully planned itineraries. The destinations may be beautiful, but the experience can sometimes feel predictable — as if the traveller is simply moving from one scheduled stop to another.
Lasitha wanted to create something different.
He wanted travellers to experience the real Sri Lanka — its people, villages, landscapes, traditions, food, stories, wildlife and everyday moments — in a way that feels natural, personal and genuinely memorable.
That idea became Wings Tail.
Beyond the itinerary
We believe the best travel moments are often the ones that cannot be written into a script.
It might be sharing a meal with a local family, discovering a quiet village path, learning an old craft directly from someone who has practised it for generations, watching wildlife without disturbing it, or simply having a conversation with a local person and seeing Sri Lanka through their eyes.
These are not just places to visit. They are moments to experience.

Too often, travel experiences are built around a script — the same route, the same stops, the same story, repeated for every visitor. We believe Sri Lanka deserves something more authentic.
At Wings Tail, we create experiences that are shaped by real people, real places and real moments. We don’t want travellers to simply watch Sri Lanka.
